About Me

I had imagined a future as a sketch artist or graphic designer. I filled sketchbooks, worked in charcoal, and began studying design in college. But everything changed when I picked up a camera. Photography matched the way I saw and moved through the world. It gave me the freedom to respond to life as it unfolded rather than interpret it after the fact.

Five decades as an assignment photographer refined my technique, sharpened my instincts, and instilled the discipline to work under any circumstance. Yet beyond the assignments, the camera became something more personal: the instrument through which I learned to look inward and find my own voice.
