The questions that keep the work moving.

A personal note on 64 years with a camera, professional discipline, and recognition from 1x.com.

I recently calculated that I started taking photographs about 64 years ago. I clearly enjoyed the process. I spent roughly 50 of those years as a professional, shooting for a range of clients.

That work demanded technical proficiency as much as creativity, and it worked. But after every shoot, I found myself wondering if something could have been done better.

Today, I produce fine-art photographs: curated, limited editions. I think it is the best work I have done, and still, I wonder.

I just earned my seventh published piece on 1x.com, an internationally curated fine-art photography platform where professional curators accept fewer than 1% of submissions. That recognition made me realize those questions are not a flaw in the process. They are what drive me to make finer work.

I am grateful for the recognition, and for anyone who takes a moment to look.
